LaToya Nelson-Piccott is an accomplished educator, instructional leader, and educational entrepreneur with nearly two decades of experience helping students unlock their full potential. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of educational leadership roles, including classroom teacher, instructional interventionist, technology teacher, academic coach, Title 1 Coordinator, and K–5 Mathematics Coach.
Her passion has always remained the same: to empower learners by building confidence, strengthening academic skills, and creating meaningful opportunities for lifelong success.
Education & Training
LaToya holds a Master of Arts in Educational Technology, a Master of Science in Special Education, and a Master of Education in Educational Administration. She has completed Orton-Gillingham Training and is TouchMath Trained, equipping her with evidence-based instructional strategies to support students with diverse learning needs, including those with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Her expertise includes literacy intervention, mathematics intervention, executive functioning, special education, and differentiated instruction designed to meet the unique needs of every learner.
Building HTM Learning Services
As the founder of HTM Learning Services, LaToya created a comprehensive educational organization dedicated to supporting students from elementary school through college. Through HTM Tutoring Services, students receive personalized instruction in reading, mathematics, writing, executive functioning, study skills, and special education support. Through HTM Elite Academy, students develop organization, time management, academic coaching, leadership, and mentoring skills that prepare them for success in middle school, high school, college, and beyond.
The Mark of Excellence Lab
LaToya is also the co-founder of The Mark of Excellence Lab, an organization committed to preparing students, young adults, and professionals with the academic, leadership, executive functioning, and workforce readiness skills needed to thrive in today's world. Together, these organizations reflect her belief that education should develop not only academic achievement but also confidence, independence, resilience, and purpose.
